I certainly give God the glory for giving me the skills and ability to help you achieve and maintain your fitness goals.  I'm retired from the U.S. Army and fitness has been a part of my lifestyle for over 25 years. During my 20 years  in the military, I served as a Drill Sergeant, Master Fitness Trainer and Weight Control NCO. I'm currently certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a Personal Trainer; I'm a licensed TRX Suspension Trainer and R.I.P.P.E.D. Instructor. I am the Co-Host of "Health Matters" on WAAW Shout 94.7 FM.  My desire is to help you live a healthier and more active lifestyle through wellness, fitness and education that produces lifestyle changes. See you in class!


First, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the ability, skill, knowledge, and wisdom in the field of health and fitness. I have been associated with aerobic exercising for over 25 years, with a background in athletic sports. I am certified as a Personal Trainer by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and a Group Fitness Instructor by the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA).  I'm also certified as a Group Fitness Director and Facility Manager by SCW Fitness Education.  I'm a member of the NETA Certification Board to advance the field of health, wellness, and fitness by developing and maintaining criteria and procedures for conducting valid and reliable national certification programs for exercise professionals. I am the Host of "Health Matters" on WAAW Shout 94.7 FM.  My desire is to help people reach their overall fitness goals and make lifestyle changes by inspiring them to live healthier and more active lifestyles. I have extensive knowledge in the areas of Nutrition and Women's Health and I am a wellness and fitness coach. My goal is to provide you with a safe, fun, and effective workout while inspiring you to make healthy lifestyle changes. I bring enthusiasm, passion, and energy to every exercise session to ensure it is packed with excitement!  So, join me for fitness, fun, and fellowship. Now come on!  Let's have fun and stay healthy while exercising with a smile!

Staying motivated throughout the fall and winter seasons is more important than you might think if you're trying to live a healthier and more active lifestyle. The fresh air, warm temperatures and longer hours of sunlight in spring and summer makes participating in physical activity easier and inviting.  However, if cooler weather and less sunlight makes you lose motivation in fall and winter, you can derail months of healthy habits.  It can be challenging to motivate yourself to stay physically active as the temperatures begin to drop and the hours of sunlight become shorter.  While the leaves start to turn shades of red, yellow, and orange, and the flavor of the season makes us indulge in comfort foods, it’s no surprise fall takes the cake as the fattest season of the year.  The short days, long nights, and colder weather can make it easy for us to get into hibernation mode. However, adopting sedentary behaviors could be detrimental to our waistline. Statistics say you can gain 5-10 pounds in the fall and winter season; I call it the Thanksgiving Ten (10lbs).  During this time of year there’s a lot of gatherings with family and friends centered around some good down home food.  The key during this time is to continue to be active, manage your portion sizes, and practice moderation.
